1. Cardiac tamponade
A cardiac tamponade is an accumulation of fluids in the pericardium which can cause inadequate ventricular filling so that cardiac output is decreased. The fluid in the pericardium could be the result of trauma, infections, or cancers (often breast cancers) that have metastasized to the pericardium.
