1. Endoderm (entoderm, endoblast, entoblast, hypoblast)
The innermost layer of tissue in a developing animal embryo which will eventually become the digestive tract, respiratory tract, and various other things depending on the organism. Occurs in all animals except for sponges and placozoans.

The inner layer of cells in embryonic development that gives rise to organs and tissues associated with digestion and respiration. Also, the inner tissue layer in flatworms.

3. Endodermis
A layer of cells surrounding the vascular cylinder of plants.
