1. Erythrocyte (red blood cell, RBC)
A red blood cell; erythrocytes carry oxygen in the blood via hemoglobin . RBCs are disk-shaped and indented on both sides and are about 7 micrometers in diameter. A red blood cell lives about 120 days.
