1. HindII (Hind II, Hind II restriction enzyme)
A restriction enzyme which cuts DNA wherever it sees the following nucleotide sequence: 5' G T Py Pu A C 3' and 3' C A Pu Py G T 5' . The enzyme cuts the DNA between the Py and Pu on both strands. The Hind II enzyme was originally found in the bacterium Hemophilus influenzae.

2. HindIII (Hind III, Hind III restriction enzyme)
A restriction enzyme which cuts DNA wherever it sees the following nucleotide sequence: 5' AAGCTT 3' and 3' TTCGAA 5' . The enzyme cuts the DNA between the two A's on each strand (it makes a staggered cut). The Hind III enzyme was originally found in the bacterium Hemophilus influenzae.
