1. Infectious pancreatic necrosis virus
A virus from the genus Birnavirus in the family Birnaviridae which attacks fish. It is highly contagious and causes severe, often fatal infections of the pancreas . It is especially prone to attack young fish in the family Salmonidae (the salmon and trout family) which have been raised in hatcheries.
