1. Intermittent stream (seasonal stream)
* One in contact with the groundwater table that flows only at certain times of the year as when the groundwater table is high and/or when it receives water from springs or from some surface source(e.g., melting snow in mountainous areas). It ceases to flow above the stream bed when losses from evaporation or seepage exceed the available streamflow. * A stream that normally flows for at least thirty (30) days after the last major rain of the season and is dry a large part of the year. * A stream which flows only during the wet season, may also be called an intermittent stream.
