To discharge a secretion ; to release some sort of liquid substance (or substance in liquid). This can be done by the cell , by gland s or other organs, or by tissues. Examples of things that are secreted are hormone s, saliva, mucus, bile, and sweat.

To make and give off such as when the beta cell s make insulin and then release it into the blood so that the other cells in the body can use it to turn glucose (sugar) into energy.
