2. Shoulder dystocia
Shoulder dystocia is the arrest of spontaneous delivery of the fetus because of impaction of the anterior shoulder behind the pubic symphysis, because of a disproportion between fetal and maternal size (in other words, the baby is too big to fit through the birth canal and his/her shoulder gets wedged behind the mother's pubic bone).

3. Shoulder-hand syndrome
Shoulder-hand syndrome is characterized by burning pain and swelling of the fingers and hand with skin atrophy and increased sweat secretion in association with a painful, stiff shoulder. The range of motion of the shoulder on the affected arm is decreased. The pathogenesis of this condition is still uncertain.
