1. Xeroderma pigmentosum
A rare genetic disease ( autosomal recessive inheritance) in which afflicted individuals lack the enzyme responsible for the repair of DNA damaged by ultraviolet light . The gene for this disease is recessive , and people suffering from it are extremely sensitive to light and develop eye and skin abnormalities such as premature aging, skin atrophy , skin ulcer s, keratose s and skin cancers and must be kept completely away from UV light.
