Almonte (originally, Bay Junction;2 until 1912, Mill Valley Junction1) is an unincorporated community in Marin County, California.1 It is located on the Northwestern Pacific Railroad 6 miles (9.7 km) south of downtown San Rafael,2 at an elevation of 20 feet (6 m).1
