Black Point (formerly, Grandview and Grandview Terrace) is an unincorporated community in Marin County, California.1 It is located on the Petaluma River 3.5 miles (5.6 km) east of downtown Novato,2 1 mile (1.6 km) west-northwest of Petaluma Point, at an elevation of 39 feet (12 m).1 For census purposes, Black Point is aggregated with other nearby communities in the census-designated place Black Point-Green Point, California.
The first Black Point post office operated from 1865 to 1891.2 The Grandview post office opened in 1905, changed its name to Black Point to 1944, and closed in 1952.2
