Aştileu (Hungarian: Esküllő) is a commune in Bihor County, northwestern Romania, close to the border with Hungary. It is composed of four villages: Aştileu, Călăţea, Chistag and Peştere. 87.94% Romanians, 5.2% Roma, 4.48% Slovaks, 1.55% Hungarians, 0.23% Germans.
The closest town to Aştileu is Aleşd, pretty much in walking distance. The most distinguishing feature is a charming small church.
