Kharal (Urdu: کھرل) is a Muslim Rajputs clan settled in Punjab, Pakistan.

History
Kharal are Panwar (or Paramara) Muslim Rajputs. The Paramara belongs to the Agnivansha of Rajputs .
They were Kshatriya of Himalaya originally. They are from the generation of the popular Raja of Neshapur, Raja Karan. Kharal was grand son of Raja Karan of the Mahabharata. One of the off springs Bhopa, Raja Karan's son, left Neshapur and migrated to Punjab and reached to Uch Sharif with his son Kharal in the 13th century, where he and his son were inspired by the preachings of Makhdoom Jalal-ud-Din Jalhanian and converted to Islam with their clan.
Kharal has 12 sons. From Uch Sharif, the Kharal generation spread over the countryside around the River Ravi called the Sandal Bar (Urdu: ساندل بار), is a region between the rivers Chenab and Ravi in Punjab, Pakistan. It is located in the Rechna Doab. It spreads over almost 80 km in width (west to east) and 40 km in length (north to south).
"Bar", in the local language, means a forested area where there are no resources for cultivation, like water. This Bar is named after Saandal, thought to be the grandfather of the legendary Punjabi hero, Dulla Bhatti. Almost all the area of this bar used to be part Jhang District, but nowadays it is divided between the districts of Faisalabad, Jhang, Kamalia, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib and Jhelum (Pind Dadan Khan).
Kharal are considered as the famous land lords or feudal lords of their respective areas. Kharal are one of the most wealthy, respectable and famous caste. Nowadays Kharal are known as highly educated and well developed tribe. They were the well known Agriculturist of their respective areas.
The hero of the romantic poem Mirza Sahiban, Mirza Khan, was a Kharal and is known as Mirza throughout the Punjab region.

Locality
Kharal live mainly in Sandal Bar. Now they are living in Districts of Jhelum, Pind Dadan Khan, Toba Tek Singh, Vehari, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Lahore, Hafizabad, Okara, Gujrat, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Bahawalnagar, Jhang, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Lodhran, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan. Taunsa, (churkin) and Fatehpur, Punjab.

The Lakhwera clan was never numerically strong but it attained certain amount of importance during the reign of Aurangzeb, when Saadat Yar Khan, the then chief of Kamalia, obtained a fief/jagir from the Emperor. It was at this time that Walidad Sial overran Kamalia and settled the Mardana and Tarhana Sials on the Ravi.Nawab Saadat Ali Khan was called the "king of Sandal Bar" He was very generous and kind hearted man. He ruled Kamalia till 1947 partition. Some of the Kharals moved towards Vehari, Multan, Faisalabad, and Hafizabad,and Taunsa sharif (Churkin) land lord was Ahmed bukhsh kharal and then further south to Sindh.
